Eliminates the use of grease on the top plate and between top plate and bracket. (Grease is still required in the locking mechanism.) Molded non-abrasive inserts in the top plate and austempered ductile iron pocket inserts eliminate the need for lubrication in these areas.

A machined top plate-to-yoke fit-up area maximizes surface contact and extends service life. The locking system also provides high coupling protection, which protects against coupling at an improper height. The kingpin-to-lock contact area is also 7.2 sq. in. - up to 87% greater contact area, over competitive models, for longer kingpin and lock life.

The FW35 Series features a one step rear lock providing high coupling protection. It has a forged steel split lock style, and the rear lock is machined and heat treated. This provides greater lock and lock pin durability.
